Michael Primeau was born in 1991 in Ferndale, Michigan. At an early age, he showed the makings of a future engineer. While most children would play with their electronic toys, Michael would disassemble them to understand how they worked. He quickly developed an interest in complex computer systems and began repairing them in his spare time.

Michael attended Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI. After that, he obtained his degree in Audio Engineering Technology in 2018. and remains committed to continuing his education. A few of Michael’s greatest strengths include troubleshooting and solving complex problems. He is also incredibly talented at repairing computers, audio recording equipment, and electronic circuitry.

Michael began his career at Primeau Forensics in 2009, 25 years after the company was founded by his father, Edward. Subsequently, having grown up around his father’s work, you can almost say he was born to become a forensic expert.

Michael strives to reduce the opportunity for biasing during investigations. In order to protect the integrity of Primeau Forensics and its clients, analysis must be approached from an unbiased, third party, scientific perspective. He not only helps the judge, jury, litigators and clients answer complicated questions, but he helps present complex data in a simple understanding.

Michael is a member of Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA), the International Association For Identification (IAI), and Audio Engineering Society (AES). Firstly, he earned his Forensic Video Technician certification following training in video forensic analysis and photographic video comparison. Secondly, Michael completed instruction at the University of Colorado Denver’s Center for Media Forensics in audio authentication, audio enhancement, and image authentication. He has worked on national and international-level investigations and has consulted with the media on several cases. Michael has also made several appearances on the Travel Channel’s popular televesion series Expedition Unknown.
